Stinger Coated 60 Deg. Upcut V-Groove Bit 2.5” OAL

$39.95

The Stinger VenomBlue coated V-Groove router bits are designed for high-performance and long cutting life. The upcut spiral on this solid carbide cutter pulls the dust up and out of the groove it’s creating, resulting in longer tool life and highly detailed engravings. We have specially designed this cutter to be used on CNC routers, but they are an excellent choice for traditional handheld routers and router tables.

Description

The Stinger VenomBlue coated V-Groove router bits are designed for high-performance and long cutting life. The upcut spiral on this solid carbide cutter pulls the dust up and out of the groove it’s creating, resulting in longer tool life and highly detailed engravings. We have specially designed this cutter to be used on CNC routers, but they are an excellent choice for traditional handheld routers and router tables.

Not only do these bits have a unique tool geometry, the Stinger V-Groove cutters come equipped with our VenomBlue coating. This AlTiSiN-B coating acts like a lubricant and drastically reduces the friction between cutter and material. When your feed rate and RPM are optimized, this coating can extend the tool life by up to 5x when comparing to the uncoated alternatives.

  • Material: High Quality German MicroGrain K20 Carbide (95% Tungsten Carbide, 5% Cobalt)
  • Good balance of wear resistance (hardness) and toughness (using a cobalt binder).
  • The cobalt binder provides excellent toughness, making the rods resistant to impact and fracture.
  • Reliable and versatile performance for a variety of general-purpose woodworking applications.
  • Best for: Standard, general-purpose applications. K20 Carbide is widely used for cutting non-ferrous metals, plastics, and wood.
Coating: AlTiSiN-B (Aluminum Titanium Silicon Nitride with Boron)

An advanced PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating designed for extreme high-speed, dry-cutting, and hard-machining applications, offering superior hardness, thermal stability and oxidation resistance. It often outperforms standard AlTiN and AlTiSiN coatings by providing enhanced lubrication, lower friction, and higher wear resistance.

  • Enhanced Performance: The inclusion of Silicon (forms a nanocomposite structure, increasing hardness, while Boron (improves lubricating properties and reduces the wear rate.
  • High Thermal Stability: Withstands high temperatures, making it ideal for dry cutting and preventing edge deformation in hard materials.
  • Increased Productivity: Allows for faster cutting speeds and higher feed rates, resulting in reduced machining time and lower costs.

Specifications:

  • Oxidation Temperature: 1100 Deg. C
  • Surface Hardness (HV): 3500
  • Friction Coefficient: 0.45
  • Coating Thickness (μm): 1~4
  • Extends tool life up to 5x compared to an uncoated tool
