At the heart of the CWI-DCP350H-VC is our Vortex-design dust collection system in a cyclonic dust collector. With traditional cyclone dust collectors, the dust is pulled into the main inlet of the cyclone by the suction created by the impeller/fan.
The air/dust then circulates inside the cyclone causing the majority of heavy dust to fall into the collection drum below the cyclone itself. The really fine particles of dust then flow into the filtration area of the machine and drop into a small collection bag/box attached to the filter. The inside of the filter then collects the dust from making its way back into the atmosphere.
There are varying degrees of filtration efficiency available including Hepa rated filtration used by DustFX. The filter is cleaned either manually or automatically with paddles inside the filter or by manually using compressed air outside of the filter.

The new DustFX Vortex machine uses a newly designed dust stream through the cyclone. Dust enters the machine into the cyclone area similar to other cyclones, with the heavier chips and dust dropping into the dust collection bin. This is where Vortex changes the technology. Instead of the fine particles of dust now entering the inside of the filtration area, they are instead sent through a chamber down to a secondary collection bin at the back of the machine below the filtration area.
The filtration area is completely enclosed and houses the Italian-made H13 HEPA washable polyester canister filter. With the Vortex design of dust flow, the inside of the filter is the clean-air side of the filter, causing all of the dust to stay on the outside of the filter area.
The Vortex then uses a pneumatic “Auto-Clean” automated filter cleaning system, which features a compressed air tank at the top of the machine that is manually activated with the push of a button on the side-mounted control panel to throw a large blast of air into the filter, blowing the dust off the outside of the filter, down into the secondary collection bin.
The H13 HEPA canister filter is capable of removing 99.97% of dust down to 0.3 microns and 100% of dust .5 micron and larger. Not only does the H13 filter offer exceptional filtration, the air flow is vastly superior with 172 sq ft of filtration area. (16 Cubic Meters)
The Dust FX Vortex also features a negative pressure primary dust collection bin which is mechanically connected to the cyclone. No hoses and clamps to undo for emptying the dust bin. A negative pressure dust bin is utilized to hold down the replaceable dust bags inside the bin so they don’t get pulled into the machine before getting full of dust. Both collection bins feature quick-release clamps for fast, mess-free emptying, and the primary bin’s reusable plastic liner makes disposal even easier. Despite its power, this machine operates at a remarkably quiet 70 dB at 10 feet.
